This year marks Halo Financial's 10 year anniversary and to celebrate, we hired a private suite at Bloomsbury Bowling to have a night filled with fun and games!
We began the night with short presentations from the managers of each division, who reflected on their successes from the past year and also noted their goals for 2015/16. It was great for everyone to see that many divisions exceeded their targets and are on track for what is expected to be a year with lots of growth and development. Special mentions went out to some team members - Laurie Sayer, Mimzee Brewer and Alastair Glen - for their exceptional hard work over the past year.
Directors David Johnson and Gavin Herridge then shared some of Halo's successes over the last decade, performing a short skit of when they both began the business in 2005, discussing what they envisaged their business to be. With a few chuckles and thought-provoking moments, the Directors then launched their vision for 2015/16, with a focus on growth, quality of service and employee recognition. Beautiful bunches of flowers were then given to 3 employees - Angelina Foden, Emily Tang and Verity Maskell - for their individual hard work on recent projects.
With champagne at the ready, the office toasted to a successful year with many more to come. Feeling energetic and ready for some fun and games, everyone then changed shoes, got into their teams and lanes and started to bowl! With a variety of bowling talent across the group, a personalised Spotify playlist in the background, and amazing canapés always within reach, there was a really great vibe in the Kingpin Suite!
We played 2 surprisingly noncompetitive rounds of bowling, with Al Sweatman coming in as winner with the top individual score of 158! Wooooo! Then people started to break off into groups and take advantage of the other games in the Suite - table tennis, pool, cricket simulator, racing and karaoke! We have one cricket fanatic who didn't ever want to leave the cricket simulator, a professional table tennis player who was trashing everyone, and a few decent singers who re-enacted some Beyoncé (including the moves...) in the karaoke room, so naturally, everyone found their niche!
After a while, the Directors managed to round us all up one last time to give us a surprise. Gavin began unpacking 4 Halo trophies: Employee of the Week (awarded to Alastair Glen), Employee of the Month (awarded to Ashanti Williamson), Salesperson of the Quarter and Team of the Quarter.
There were some merry cheers for Alastair and Ashanti and then instant motivation among the teams who had their eyes on the last two awards, which will be announced later this month.
It was then time to cut the birthday cake. It was truly painful cutting up this beautiful 3D cake with our 10 year anniversary logo, but it had to be done... and it was delicious. The cake managed to make its way back to the office today and is shockingly almost gone!
Overall, it was such a great night with reflection and inspiration for the year to come, with many laughs and a few tears of joy! Thank you to all of our customers who have helped us to thrive.
