Commodity prices decline

Published: Thursday 12 November 2015

Commodity prices are tumbling this afternoon and this is causing a sell-off in the commodity basket of currencies (AUD, NZD, CAD and ZAR).  We have seen GBP rally against all these currencies as the day has progressed.

Sterling has remained relatively static against the other major currencies, highlighting how this move is being driven by weakness in the other currencies as opposed to a rally in sterling.
