
1. Vancouver Island
Located on Canada’s southern west coast, Vancouver Island is the largest Pacific island east of New Zealand. 2. Canadian Rockies
Many tourists associate Canada with the luscious green mountainous scenery they see of the Canadian Rockies. Found between Alberta and Vancouver, there are five major parks that make up the Rockies: Yoho, Jasper, Kootenay, Banff and Waterton. This area is famous for hiking and biking trails and tourists consider this as one of the best places to visit in Canada.
Fun fact: To protect the park animals, Banff National Park specifically built over and underpasses on the Trans-Canada Highway for wildlife to use.
3. Niagara Falls
Undoubtedly one of the major tourist attractions of the world, Niagara Falls is the collective name for three waterfalls that straddle the international border between Canada and the United States. Although it is not the tallest waterfall in the world, it is the combination of height and width that makes Niagara Falls so beautiful. Not only is this one of the best places to visit in Canada, but in the whole world.
Fun fact: Niagara Falls has moved back seven miles in 12,500 years, making it possibly the fastest moving waterfall in the world.
4. Polar Bear Watching in Manitoba
If you’re feeling adventurous, then be sure to make a stop in Churchill, Manitoba in northern Canada and go on a polar bear watching tour. Experience the amazing polar bears in their natural habitat and whilst you’re at it you will definitely enjoy the stunning scenery as well.
Fun fact: Churchill, Manitoba has been nicknamed “Polar Bear Capital of the World”.
5. Old Quebec
A historic neighbourhood of Quebec City, Old Quebec is a UNESCO world heritage treasure comprised of an Upper Town and Lower Town and one of the best places to visit in Canada. People come here to visit the historic churches, museums and cathedrals, including Notre-Dame-de-Quebec Basilica Cathedral. Fine dining and shopping are an art form in Old Quebec.
Fun fact: Quebec City has the oldest median age of any major city in Canada, which is 43.5 years old.
